Project Outline

The aim of the IBFC project is to optimize the power output of Implantable BioFuel Cells (IBFC).

The project consortium proposes to achieve this goal by exploring several paths of research in nanobiotechnology:

The research axes will be covered through a work-program of four (4) inter-related work-packages.

Due to the multi-thematic challenges of the IBFC project, a consortium of four laboratories (TIMC-IMAG, DCM, LETI, LGP2) and one entreprise (SORIN) has been established. Together, they possess the required expertises to overcome the various challenges of the IBFC project: novel devices for surgery, animal experiments, pacemaker technology, electrochemistry, micro-nanotechnology, printing technology, etc.

This project is co-financed by the french research agency - Agence Nationale de la Recherche - in the framework of the Nanobiotechnology thematic of the "Investissements d'Avenir" program.
